About Scott JohnDeering, MD

Dr. Scott Deering, a Twinsburg native, who specializes in arthroscopic surgery of the knee and shoulder, has joined Bowling Green Orthopaedics.
Deering also provides total knee, hip and shoulder replacements.
Part of his job will be serving as orthopedic surgeon for Bowling Green State University athletics.
"It is really nice working with young, healthy people who are motivated to get better," Deering said.
His interest in sport-related orthopaedics was sparked in high school when he sustained injuries playing sports.
"I was really fascinated by the anatomy and how the body works," he said. "That really appealed to me."
Deering earned his doctorate and Master of Science degree from Case Western University.
He earned a Bachelor of Science in molecular genetics from Ohio State University.
He completed his surgery residency at the Michigan State University/Kalamazoo Center for Medical Studies and an orthopaedic sports medicine fellowship at the University of Kentucky.
Deering said he was contacted by a recruiter to locate to Bowling Green.
"I was very impressed by the group. And it seemed like a really nice town," he said.
He joins three other doctors at the practice, which is located on the Wood County Hospital campus.
